Pure Joy

1 year 4 years

It's amazing to me to stare into the eyes of my now 4 year old and still recall the first time I held his precious little body. Today was a day of celebration in our home. We celebrated Owen's life, his laughter, his smile, his tenderness, his love for others, his creativity, his interest in dinosaurs and sword fighting..a true warrior. I sit here tonight amazed at all this precious little person has taught me the last 4 years and continues to teach me. I love being a mom although days are long and duties are endless, but I'm learning to take more moments to enjoy Owen. It's easy to rush the day away with house work, but the reason I'm choosing to be at home is to nurture Owen and his brothers, and to do that, I must stop and seize each moment with them. If that means for me to put off laundry another day or when they are resting then I must, Because as I'm now learning....it goes way too fast.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye...Owen turns 4!

This past weekend we celebrated Owen's 4th birthday with a knight party. We invited a few of his closest frinds to share in the fun. Each person made their own breast plate, crown or tiara, and we knighted them at the end with a sword. Fun times!

Poppie, YaYa, and Aunt Jen came to celebrate Owen's birthday. It's always fun to have family come in town. We spent to weekend laughing, playing, jumping on the trampoline, and talking about Aunt Jenna and (soon-to-be) Uncle Derek's upcoming wedding. We love family!

The Strangers

To my sadness, the last few weeks in our town their have been possible abductions of children. So as I struggled with how to address this with my little ones, I chose to be honest. I shared with them that there are people in our world that want to hurt children, and we all need to be careful who we talk to and always make sure mommy and daddy know where you are and can see you. Trying to walk gently over the issue, they of course had questions. After I thought we were done, Owen said, "You know mommy, we need to pray for these strangers, because they need Jesus. If they knew Him they wouldn't do this." Wow, out of the mouth of babes! Needless~to~say, we all fell to our knees and prayed for all "the strangers" of this world. I challenge you to do the same.

Junket

well, I've taken the plunge into the world of blogging. to those who know me, know I'm not computer savvy, so this is a stretch for my family and me, a junket. chad and I have grown to love the word; junket-an adventure. that's what life is for us now. an adventure in loving each other well, shepherding three tender warriors, and guiding a ministry for teenagers. i'm excited to share the realities of our lives as our adventure takes us to new places spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. enJOY the ride with us!
